It was sad to read in the recent Editorial by Laurence Lannom that D-Lib magazine is considering the introduction of subscription fees. The financial support, first by DARPA, later by NSF and CRNI will not be continued, so other sources of money have to be tapped. Hopefully, someone will find a way to keep this fine and important journal easily accessible for both readers and writers.
