Using OAIster via OpenURL and SRU

By ellermann at Mon, 2006-04-03 22:57 | OAIster | repository | SRU/SRW

It is now possible to search through the OAIster holdings through (pseudo-) OpenURL and SRU.

The base address for their "OpenURL" (OAIster is not fully OpenURL compliant yet) is

http://oaister.umdl.umich.edu/cgi/b/bib/bib-idx?

An example would be the following addition to the URL above

c=oaister&type=boolean&rgn1=%20entire+record&q1=Groningen

(try it here).

which returns all holdings containing the word Groningen in one of the metadata fields.

OAister can also be searched using SRU. The base address for sending the requests is

http://www.hti.umich.edu/cgi/s/sru/sru

The support for SRU is still minimal, as stated by the people from OAIster... The searchRetrieve operation should pass in the parameter collid=oaister. We currently only support level 0 keyword searching.

For more information, see the OAIster website.
